Configuring a PBX SIP device with Bria 5 desktop
Bria 5 is a softphone application which allows you to place audio and video calls through your service provider. The application is supported on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. For the Bria 5 configuration, firstly you should purchase the license from the link below;

After the payment, you should receive an order confirmation via email, which includes two links to have access to your number license and to download the application. Click on both links, download and install the application.
Once you run the program, you should select the option to manually enter the account settings, and then hit the sign-in button.
The following step is to enter the license key, you should copy the license from the link that you have received on your email, and paste in the key field. Then, hit the button add and the status should be verified. Click on done and the program will restart with the authorised license.
Once Bria 5 restarted, you should configure the SIP details to connect your softphone to the PBX. For this configuration, select softphone on the top-left corner of the Bria 5 and click on account settings.
Now, log into your customer portal and click on the PBX tab, select the SIP devices setting from the bottom left corner and locate the SIP device details you would like to configure.
Next, you should enter the chosen device information on the Bria 5 application. The SIP login and the SIP server which the application will connect to. Please note that you must enter the port number to the end of the SIP server address using a colon then the port number. Following this, you should copy and paste the SIP password.
Moving through to the transport tab, we recommend selecting TCP as the transport protocol rather than UDP.
We also suggest changing the refresh interval to 120 seconds on the advanced tab.
Now you have entered the connection details the device should change status from offline to online on the customer portal.
Lastly, you should connect the user object to your call flow and make a test call. Don't forget to apply the configuration.

Bria Mobile from CounterPath is a cloud-based communication tool, where you can configure SIP devices to make calls and videos through the internet. For Bria's configuration, firstly you should log into your customer portal, click on PBX tab and select the SIP Devices setting located on the bottom left corner. Your SIP device's information will be displayed on the screen and you need to select the device you wish to configure to your Bria mobile application. Please note that these details are required to connect your chosen SIP device with Bria Mobile system. It is important to remember only a single SIP device can be connected to a single handset or softphone at a time, registering the same account details to 2 devices will cause your IP address to become blocked for 15 minutes.
After that, on your Apple device, download and install Bria Mobile from the app store. Once download, open the app, select settings option and click on the VoIP button. As shown in the image below, you should manually enter the SIP login, SIP password and SIP server. Please note that you must enter the port number to the end of the SIP server address using a colon then the port number. Should you enter the password incorrectly it is important you fix the password and wait 15 minutes before attempting to reconnect.

Additionally, we recommend completing the following configuration to ensure the connection remains reliable. The push notifications are an important tool to keep alive the connection between server and SIP device, and for this reason, you should enable this setting by clicking the toggle switch. Scrolling down the screen select account advanced and change the Wi-FI and Mobile IP version from 'prefer IPv6' to 'prefer IPv4'. Also, we suggest the TCP rather than UDP as the SIP transport utilised. Finally, in the mobile's general settings enable the Bria mobile to run in the background.
Lastly, the status should appear online on the customer portal. Then, save the device's configuration and add it to a user object. The user object should be connected to your call flow and you be able to make calls via Bria's app. Don't forget to apply the configuration.

Bria Remove License Keys
Bria 3 is a business class mobile and computer application provided by CounterPath. It includes the ability to transfer and conference calls. To set up the CounterPath Bria 3 program, follow the steps below:
Once your Bria 3 has been installed, run the application. You will be required to input a license key before the application will run. After you have installed and licensed the software, you can finish the setup process inside the Bria application.
- For Administrators, log in to NextOS by visiting www.nextiva.com and clicking on Login found at the top of the page. Alternatively, click here.
- Log in to NextOS with your login credentials.
- From the main dashboard, hover your cursor over Users and select Manage Users (Figure 1-1).

- Click the drop-down arrow under Select Model and select Generic SIP Phone.
- Select Assign to assign the device to a User.
- Click the drop-down arrow under Choose one user for assignment to this device to select a User to assign the device to. Click the Change Password check box, then click the Generate buttons to generate new authentication details (Figure 1-3).

- Click Finish to apply changes.
- Ensure that the computer with the CounterPath Bria 3 installation has a physical hard-wire Internet connection. Wireless applications can lead to poor audio quality, depending on the strength of the signal.
- Once your Bria 3 has been installed, run the application. You will be required to input a license key before the application will run. Then, follow these steps:
- Select Preferences from the menu
- Under the Accounts Tab press “New SIP Account”
Fill out the required information under the tab “Account”
Account name: Use a name that will help you identify this account name in the future.
Under User Details:

- User ID: Input the SIP Username from the employee that will be using this device
- Domain: Input prod.voipdnsservers.com:5062
- Password: Input the Authentication Password from the employee that will be using this device
- Display name: This can be anything. This name will display when calling between Nextiva devices
- Authorization name: Input the Authentication Name for the employee that will be using this device
- Leave the Domain Proxy at default
- Click the tab labeled Topology towards the top of the window
- For Firewall traversal method, choose the None (use local IP address) radio button
Click OK to save all
Next, select Softphone at the top and then Preferences. Once the window opens, select the option labeled Audio Codecs on the left-hand side.
Remove all current audio codecs with the exception of G711uLaw.
Our last step will be to select the option on the left-hand menu labeled Calls and uncheck or disable the RTP inactivity timers.

Push OK to save the changes. Bria 3 should now work properly with Nextiva's Network. It is always a best practice to make a test call to ensure the softphone was set up properly.
